A number of law firms have offered their current and incoming attorneys the opportunity to defer their employment at the law firm, and to instead work at a public interest law office in exchange for a public interest stipend to be provided by the law firm. The following are listings of legal positions available for these candidates at civil legal services and similar nonprofit legal programs in Massachusetts. These positions are only available for those attorneys who have obtained a public interest stipend through their law firm. If you do not have such a stipend, and are interested in volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association instead. Also, please note that there may be available positions at other organizations that are not listed here -- please contact your law firm administrator for further assistance.
Applying: If you have obtained a public interest stipend through your law firm employer, you can submit an application to one of the following program placements listed below. Click the title of the position for more information about the particular placement. Please contact these organizations directly if you have questions about the positions.
