Obsoleted by Field Operations Memo 2009-58. This Field Operations Memo informs TAO staff about a mailing to those clients currently enrolled in Job Search/Job Readiness activities provided by DCS,how to make referrals to DCS at the One-Stop Career Center for Non-ESP funded Job Search/Job Readiness activities effective January 2, 2009, and how to process current clients (including clients who are in extension cases) enrolled in Job Search/Job Readiness. Also attached is a memo from Deborah Harris of MLRI explaining the FOM.
Attached is DTA's Field Ops memo on procedures for job search now that DTA no longer pays the Career Centers to provide job search services. Some highlights
- Job search is now self directed but is still supposed to be at the career center.
- The text of the memo (but NOT the notice to clients) says clients are supposed to present the DTA Referral and Response form at the Career Center, which will enter their enrollment in the Career Center computer system and will track participation in workshops and forward that infoto DTA.
- Clients are supposed to bring the Referral and Response form back to DTA (unsigned, since the Career Center will not respond, apparently),which will generate a Participation and Attendance form.
- The client is supposed to fill out the Participation and Attendance form herself and bring it back to DTA to show participation or good cause. If the Career Center uses an ID card to track participation, the client is supposed to use that as well as filling out the form.
- NO ONE SHOULD BE SANCTIONED FOR NOT PARTICIPATING IN JOB SEARCH IN December AND January
- Clients should be able to get transportation to the Career Center through Transaction Associates.
- We assume that these same procedures will apply to clients who are seeking or receiving an extension of time limited benefits.
