To help your clients INCREASE their monthly food stamps (and to encourage more households to apply and get higher benefits), check out the two links below for more information.

  • Medical Expenses deduction: Households with an elder (age 60 or over) or disabled member can claim a wide range of medical expenses including private transportation at the current federal mileage rate of 56 cents per mile. Any expenses that exceed $35/month will give an automatic $155 deduction, and a household can claim even higher benefits.
  • Dependent Care Expenses Deduction: Households with child care or adult care expenses can claim 100% of their dependent care costs for care provided at home, at day care, before and after school care, summer camps and more!

Please distribute the fliers and forms on these two pages to your community groups and clients!
