Field Ops Memo 2007-19: Food Stamp Program-Verification of Dependent Care Expenses

Date:
Author:
DTA

DTA has agreed to revise policy to accept a self-declaration of dependent care (adult and child) expenses unless the information provided by the household is questionable.  Federal regulations do not mandate verification of dependent care, so DTA has elected its option under federal SNAP law to accept self-declarations. Attached is the DTA Field Operations Memo, as well as a link to a handy self-declaration form created by MLRI for self-declaration if the information is not written on the SNAP application or recertification form. (This can be used for self-declaration of dependent care or shelter costs).
