| Fiscal year 2007 budget for office of medicaid On July 8, 2006 the Governor signed the budget for fiscal year 2007 including over $7.4 billion for MassHealth. He also vetoed $75 million & struck language extending MassHealth to 19 year olds aging out of foster care, providing for help getting birth certificates at no cost for US citizens required to verify citizenship & restoring the federal maximum community spouse resource allowance that had been cut back to the minimum in 2003. The legislature has until July 31, 2006 to override the vetoes. | 7/10/2006 | ||
| MassHealth expands eligibility for children to 300% of poverty This is the notice of the emergency rule & proposed final rule increasing the income eligibility for children in Family Assistance from 200% to 300% of poverty; adding a new requirement of 6-months without insurance to discourage families from dropping private coverage, and new premium charges. | Proposed PCA rules MassHealth has proposed rules to exclude only family members who are legally liable for the support of the MassHealth recipient, such as a spouse or the parent of a minor child, from being personal care attendants. This is a liberalization of the current rule which excludes family members who are not legally liable such as the adult child of a parent on MassHealth. The proposed effective date is March 1, 2006.
