Final Rules: Rules for Helping Blind and Disabled Individuals Achieve Self-Support

On May 16, 2006, SSA issued final regulations, published at 71 Fed. Reg. 28262 (5/16/06), establishing individualized time limits for Plans to Achieve Self-Support.  These regulations implement Section 203 of the Social Security Independence and Program Improvements Act of 1994, Pub. L. 103-296, which required SSA, in setting time limits for a PASS, to take into account the length of time the individual needs to achieve the his or her employment goal.
