Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System

MCAS is a standardized test that all public school students are required to take. It's used to assess each school district's annual yearly progress (AYP), a measurement required by NCLB, and students must pass the 10th grade MCAS or an Alternate Assessment to receive a diploma (unless they are granted one on appeal.)
